EDUCATOR FUNDS RESEARCH

Eminent educationist Lakshmi Rameshwar Rao (Buchamma) has donated Rs.2 lakhs to the city-based Education Trust which has been supporting and enriching the teaching and learning process among students and teachers through a variety of activities.

Buchamma made the donation of her own free will from the money obtained through the sale of ancestral gold that she received as her share in property inherited from her father, the erstwhile Raja J. Rameshwar Rao of the Wanaparthy Samsthan in Mahbubnagar.

Buchamma, who is one of the trustees says the Trust is supported in its mission by Spark-India, a unit of the trust which conducts research works in Indian educational materials production and distribution.

The donation is to be utilized for research that will enhance the teaching process. “Our endeavour is provide quality teaching materials to make the teaching process easy, effective and enjoyable,” she adds.

On the lines of Spark-India, the Trust has recently opened Spark-Gulbarga and is starting a resource center, Spark-Tanvir Centre of Special Needs Education in Hyderabad, to carry forward the legacy of disability work begun by the late Tanvir Iqbal, a special education consultant and speech therapist who passed away earlier this year.
