AWARENESS MEET ON STUDENT ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME

Macmillan India Limited conducted an awareness programme for teachers in twincities on its International Assessments for Indian Schools (IAIS), a skill based competition that focuses on enhancing student’s ability in different subjects, here today.

Spekaing on the occasion, Macmillan Educational product manager Manjula Duraiswamy said that the IAIS was a collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Australia. The tests would be conducted in November. The students had to apply through their respective schools. It would be held across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Mauririus, Srilanka, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran and Iraq.

The entry fee would be Rs.135 per subject (up to two subjects) and Rs.125 (in case of more than two subjects).

After the test, Macmillan would provide diagnostic reports that give the students’s answer, the right answers, skill tht each question assesses, percentage of students who answered it correctly and the ratings in each category. It would help the students know their strengths, compare and monitor their performance. The teachers could use the statistical reports to modify the classroom activities, she added.

The test would be conducted in English, Mathematics, Science and computer skills. The participants would be given certificates. More details can be had over email at milhyd@macmillan.co.in
